Kick-off-workshop hydrogen strategy District of Bamberg

In mid-November, the Cleantech Innovation Park hosted the kick-off-workshop to discuss the hydrogen strategy of the region. The event was organized by Landratsamt Bamberg. Representatives from industry, science, local politics, and chambers engaged in constructive discussions to look at hydrogen from all kinds of different perspectives, in order to develop a strategy for the region. By providing a hydrogen infrastructure for the region, the Cleantech Innovation Park is actively shaping the region's hydrogen strategy.

Keynote speeches covering current and future activities in the area of hydrogen in the region

Interesting discussions on the topic of hydrogen

The aim of the event was to present the current activities in the district, to highlight the potential, and to identify specific requirements. Recommendations will then be derived from the findings and a hydrogen roadmap will be created for the district. Both the keynote speeches and the subsequent working groups sparked exciting discussions among the participants about current challenges and their political frameworks.

Cleantech Innovation Park as central connection

As part of our topic area “Clean Energy”, hydrogen has been a focus of the activities at the Cleantech Innovation Park from the beginning. Managing Director Peter Keller presented the current developments of the site during the workshop. Further presentations by our partners Pacifico Energy Partners and JET H2 Energy introduced the details of the planned infrastructure. To provide a holistic infrastructure for the region, we are planning to construct a hydrogen fuelling station in spring 2024, followed later by an electrolyzer for the production of green hydrogen. A comprehensive offering around hydrogen also includes training and further education in the use of this new technology. Together with our partners Symbio, Fraunhofer IISB, and TÜV SÜD, our H2 Academy brings together major actors from the hydrogen industry, and promotes practical training.

Hydrogen strategy in the works

We are looking forward to actively shaping the hydrogen strategy for the area in close collaboration with our partners, and are especially pleased to be able to offer important infrastructure and targeted training at the Cleantech Innovation Park.
